Realize Jesus Is With You

Members of secret societies usually swear an oath of belief in a Divine Architect, a deity of very generic terms.  The definition of this deity is strikingly different than the Bible’s revelation of the nature of God.  It is worth comparing the two understandings.  It is so basic.

For starters, the Christian God is a trinity, the Masonic deity is not.  Jesus is Lord and God to the Christian; to Masonry He is not.  The Holy Spirit is God; and to the Lodge He is not.  They are not the same God.

The fact that secret societies advocate the belief in a deity lures Christians into a sense of security about the Lodge.  Lodge Christians believe that the organization cannot be harmful if it indeed defends theistic, or deistic belief.

Initiated members of secret societies can be involved in churches, as they are individuals with a foundational belief in the existence of this Supreme Architect.  It is good to be in church!  They may rise to leadership due to their desire to serve people and live ethical lives.  Remember, they carry not only some understanding of Christianity, but teachings that stem from the Lodge.  This not only places Freemasons and initiated members of secret societies in churches; it places Freemasonry and secret societies in churches.

In the process of initiation, many members of secret societies have bowed at various altars.  The altars represent different things depending on the lodge system.  Their rituals and oaths may admit to borrowing material from pagan systems and the principal esoteric schools, as well as the occult Kabbala.  In asking for the light of an indefinite source to guide him, the initiated member may be spiritually compromised.

Jesus would have us love the person but understand the dynamics of spiritual compromise.  Scripture encourages us to love people enough to inform them of spiritual danger.  Do it all in love.  Don't argue, discuss.  If someone gets angry, let it not be you.

The warfare dynamic for a church leader is apparent.  One of the chief manifestations of this dynamic for church leaders is fear.  As a leader you must remember Jesus is with you.  The church is His church, and He knows what He is doing.  Jesus knew about the situation before you were ever called to the church.  You are not alone.

"And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." -Jesus (Matthew 28:20)
